    Dear Parents,

    Hope everyone had a great summer. On behalf of BCS board, we welcome you all back to BCS for another successfull year of learning Chinese. Here is the Principal's welcome message (www.bcs-usa.org/2007PrincipalWord.pdf).

    Please forward the following to your class parents during the transition period.

    The first day of school starts on Saturday 9/8. Each one of you would have received a first day package last week. Should you do not receive one, please go to our web site at www.bcs-usa.org for first day information including class listing (for language and culture classes) and classroom assignment.

    **Important Changes**

    All Mandarin M3 classes (M3A, M3B, M3C) are relocated to Sierramont campus. All Mandarin 7 classes (M7A, M7B, M7C) are relocated to Piedmont campus.

    All refund & class transfer requests for both language and culture classes this year will be processed ONLY at Morrill campus (MPR) during the first 2 weeks of school (9/8/07 & 9/15/07). No counter will be setup to handle transfer & refund procedures. Please proceed to MPR at Morrill between 9:30am and 11:00am. Requests will not be processed after 9/16/06.

    The placement test for skip grade and new student transfer will be held at 1:00pm at the Sierramont library. Applications will be accepted at each campus office no later than 11:00am on 9/15.

    In order to ease the transition to next year's class, current parents rep (class liaison for school activities, class rep for teacher; details please go to our web site; select New Parent Orienation Infomration undwer BCS Info on the right; slide #8 & 9) duty for each class extends to the first 3 weeks of the new school year. Please begin the process to elect parents reps, and submit their names and email addresses to us (bcs_board@yahoo.com) as soon as possible.

    Editor's Note:

    As we approach the last day of the school year, we would like to thank every one of you for your contribution and dedication to help our kids succeed in learning our heritage. With a changing world and increasing acceptance of Chinese language, BCS's mission and objectives are clearly heading the right direction in preparing our kids towards global citizenship.

    With over 1300 students, 65 language classes, 35 culture classes, 100 teachers, 3 campuses and the well established dual curriculum (Cantonese and Mandarin) heritage school in the nation, we need every member to pitch in to ensure our kids' success in becoming global citizens.     News:

    1. 9/23: 10am to noon: Confucius Day Ceremony at Berryessa Youth Center. Califonia has designated 9/28 the Confucius Day to honor the teaching professions. This year's ceremony is in Berryessa. It is a very solemn ceremony with traditional rituals that would benefit the old and the young. Please come and support the event as BCS is the largest local Chinese community group. Details please check our BCS web site at www.bcs-usa.org.

    3. Last week at Piedmont campus, police came and gave out illegal parking citations. Please follow the parking rules to avert extra expenses and keep our campuses safe.

    We received a complaint from Sierramont Librarian that books, carts, charis were in disorder the past week. Also books were reported missing, computers missing the mouse balls, etc. Please remind everyone to reframe from using the Sierramont library materials.

      1. 9/23: Confucius Day Ceremony at Berryessa Youth Center. was successfully held. BCS students were part of the ceremonial team to pay respect to the great scholar and teacher, Confucius.

      3. 9/29 and 30: Cupertino Moom Festival 10am to 4pm, Memorial Park, Cupetino.
      4. Fall Carnival sign up beginning this week. Please support BCS and sign up for class booth to augment your class' class fee and provide enjoyments for our kids.
