In order to strengthen our students learning Chinese, we are starting a new Leadership Training program. Our upper grade student volunteers will pair up with our young age students in free online tutoring sessions. The upper grade volunteers will be able to earn community service volunteer hours. They, serving as tutors in the program, will receive regular guidance and training from the mentor group, learning how to coach Mandarin speaking skills and leadership skills.
During the 30-minute tutoring session once or twice a week (depending on number of participants), the tutors will help the tutees with reading text and practicing conversations.
Students from grade 8 and above are welcome to join our leadership training team, and we will accept students from 1st to 3rd grade to sign up as tutees.
We expect the program will go online in late February to early March.
